What was the focus of your internship?
The main focus of my internship was to create weekly content on fashion and beauty topics that TikTok users would enjoy and find beneficial. Here’s one of my videos.
What was your favorite part of your internship?
The most satisfying part of my internship was seeing how well my videos did. I would constantly refresh my TikTok feed to see if it got any more likes or comments. Noticing that one of my videos got over 23,000 views was my favorite moment.
What did you find most challenging about your internship?
The most challenging aspect I faced during my internship was to step out of my comfort zone. When starting this internship, I had more experience with the fashion industry opposed to the beauty industry. While I love having my hair and makeup done, I am not the best at doing cool looks that people will want to see. When I was asked to make cool hairstyles one week I panicked and didn’t know what to do. I then calmed myself down and watched a few YouTube tutorials. What I learned from this challenge was that we aren't always going to do things that we love or we are even familiar with, but we can set our minds to it and overcome our obstacles.
