Integrate theoretical knowledge and technical skills relevant to human-animal interactions with the creative, global, interpersonal, and intercultural intelligences taught in the humanities. Graduates with a BA in Applied Humanities – Human–Animal Interaction (available beginning Fall 2026) emphasis will gain a strong foundation for pursuing a range of career paths—including animal advocacy, outreach, and policy; animal behavior consultation, training, and management; and service animal training and placement—either directly or through additional training, certification, or professional experience, depending on the field.

  • PAH 372 Intercultural Competence: Culture, Identity, Adaptation, and Intercultural Relations (3 units)
  • PAH 383 Pre-Internship: Building Career Readiness (3 units)
  • PAH 420 Innovation and the Human Condition: Learning How to Improve Life in the Community and Beyond (3 units)
  • PAH 493 Internship (3 units)
  • PAH 498 Senior Capstone (3 units)
  • One elective (3 units) from the approved list
