Alex Vaughan leveraged his network to secure an internship with A Golf Agency, and his contributions were focused on product positioning and marketing of boutique golf brands.

Why did you choose this internship and what was the focus of the experience?

I chose this internship because it gave me valuable insight into the golf industry as well as experience in marketing and branding. The focus of my work was digital marketing, branding, and product or company development. Essentially, companies would hire our team to do a complete look over of their products, websites, and other marketing channels. We would then give our feedback and suggestions we had that could help them grow and be more competitive in their respective markets. It was an enlightening experience to be able apply and utilize what I have learned outside of school and in a work environment. I had a basic understanding of many marketing and branding principles such as swot analysis, product positioning charts, effective advertising, etc. This internship allowed me to not only apply those skills but also learn and expand upon them in a real work environment as well.

What advice do you have for other students seeking internships?

The best advice I can give other PAH students beginning their internship search process is to look for something that they will not only enjoy, but also will be pushed in and learn from. Finding something like that will be a truly beneficial and great experience for students and this is how I felt about the internship I completed.
