What new skills did you practice, learn, or develop in this internship?

With my remote internship I was able to gain valuable transferable skills that include: clerical skills, interpersonal remote skills, phone courtesy, bookkeeping, accounting. All these skills can be applied to any professional setting, and I was very fortunate to gain these over the course of my internship.

How was the internship related to your Applied Humanities degree?

The great thing about humanities is that it is relevant to any professional setting. We interact with different people on a constant basis, and through the knowledge gained from my Applied Humanities degree I am able to confidently work with individuals in a collaborative work environment. My internship directly dealt with speaking to clients from different areas of the western region of the country, so my degree helped me a lot with that.

How did your Applied Humanities major coursework help prepare you for the internship?

Some of the major coursework that helped me prepare for my internship were my entrepreneurial and intercultural competence classes. I was able to practice working collaboratively with other students in my classes. The projects done in those courses were very relevant and applicable to projects that I did in my internship.
