How did you get your current job, and what kind of work do you do in your role?
I am currently an Enterprise Communications Coordinator at Golden 1 Credit Union. When searching for internships my Junior year of college on LinkedIn, I found Golden 1 was taking interns for the summer. After submitting an application and going through the interview process I was notified that I got the position! I have now been with the company for almost 2 years. My department specializes in partnering with other departments to make their communications shine. Golden 1 Credit Union has over 2,000 employees, and we are behind all the information that needs to be relayed. Whether it be an email, a post, or a video, we are here to provide our expertise to ask the right questions and make sure we are hitting their goal. In my role as Coordinator, I keep my team organized by archiving emails, and creating Playbooks, while helping my “lane” of business partners with their communications.,
What advice would you give to Applied Humanities students as they approach graduation?
Everyone’s path is different. My advice to you would be to not be afraid of a different path. Whether it be a commute, or a remote job, follow your dream.
