How did you get your current job, and what kind of work do you do in your role?
After studying abroad during my spring semester junior year in Aix-en-Provence, I had the opportunity to apply for the Alumni Fellowship, which allowed me to return to France and provide mentorship for students, assist with student life and academic programs, and experience the French community while gaining valuable professional development and international education experience.
What is a benefit you see now in studying your area of emphasis and the Applied Humanities?
When choosing to major in the Applied Humanities, I was initially drawn to the idea of having an area of emphasis. With an interest in health and wellness, I was interested in studying public health, but wanted a more interdisciplinary experience. The combination of studies allowed me to explore multiple of my interests while gaining transferable skills.
What advice would you give to Applied Humanities students as they approach graduation?
My advice is to network! The people that you know and who you get to know can be your best resource. You never know who someone can connect you with and where it will lead!
